  • Our public tours run for approximately 2 hours.
    Private tours can extend to 3 hours or longer, depending on your interests and whether museum visits or special themes are included.

  • We provide tours in German and English.

  • Guests particularly enjoy Vienna’s historic city center, medieval alleyways, Baroque boulevards, and sites connected to 19th- and 20th-century history, including the Habsburg period, wartime Vienna, and Cold War espionage hotspots.

  • Private tour pricing varies based on duration, content, and any additional elements you wish to include. We design each itinerary individually and are happy to prepare a tailored quote for your visit.

  • All public tours can be viewed and booked directly through our website. Simply choose your date and secure your place online.

  • Yes. Advance booking ensures your spot and allows us to prepare the best possible experience for you.

  • Public tours can be paid by credit card online.
    Private tours can be paid via bank transfer before the tour, or by card or cash when meeting your guide.

  • Yes.

    • 100% refund up to 2 weeks in advance
    • 50% refund from 2 weeks until 3 days before the tour
    • No cancellation possible within 3 days of the tour

    Date changes are possible up to 1 day before the tour.

Practical Information

  • Each tour has its own meeting point, listed on the tour’s information page. After booking, you will receive a detailed confirmation with precise directions.

  • All Hidden Vienna tours are walking tours with a comfortable, moderate pace. In general they are 2-2,5 km long routs.
    If you require a step-free or fully accessible route, please inform us in advance and we will adapt the itinerary accordingly, if possible.

  • Our tours often address Vienna’s darker historical themes—including war, poverty, espionage, and social issues. We are happy to adjust the content and tone when children are present. Feel free to contact us for recommendations on family-friendly options.

  • Many tours of our are accessible, though some routes include stairs or uneven terrain. Please reach out before booking so we can plan a fully suitable route for you.

  • Vienna’s weather can change quickly, and we spend extended time outdoors. We recommend comfortable footwear and season-appropriate clothing. In winter, please dress warmer than you might expect.

  • Yes. Tours proceed in rain or snow. Only official severe weather warnings may require cancellations. Please note that we cannot issue refunds due to regular bad weather.

  • We keep our groups small to ensure a high-quality and an engaging experience. Group size typically ranges from 12 to 16 participants, depending on the tour.

  • Private tours are available for groups from 1 to 25 participants, ensuring a comfortable and engaging experience.

  • Yes. We provide customized tours for schools, universities, corporate teams, and private events.

Other Practicalities

  • We do not offer food tastings, but on private tours we can gladly include a stop at a traditional Viennese coffee house or arrange time for a small snack. Food and drinks are not included in the tour price.

  • Yes, pets are welcome on most tours. Please note that certain museums and federal parks do not allow animals. Contact us in advance and we will advise you on suitable options.

  • Yes, photography is encouraged. If you wish to record video or audio during the tour, please ask your guide beforehand.
